Water Shut Off Valves: Save Thousands From Water Damage
Water Shut Off Valves : Save Thousands From Water Damag e

Most of us are away from home all day, or a vacation home where may be away for months at a time. Consider what happens if you have a small leak dripping for months or a water heater leak that spills hot water under pressure for hours.

As property managers we see how much damage can be done by water leaks. We had one property that had a bad leak under the bathroom sink. It was flowing water all day during the work week. Finally, we got a call because the water had made its way out into the common area lobby. When we got there the ater had been sitting for hours on nice wooden floors. The floor boards had to be pulled up, they were ruined and the concrete below was soaked.

We had to put this tenant up in a hotel while we dried the concrete and then lay new floor. Almost a week and $10,000 later all for a $2.00 part. All could have been prevented for a $125 device and they really work - not gimmicks but plumbing.

We had a vacation home that had a similar problem only it leaked for months! By the time the leak was discovered, hundreds of gallons of water was siting in all rooms. The owner was so disgusted that he sold as soon as he could, the happy dream of a vacation spot was ruined.

Water leak detectors and automatic shut-off valves will help to prevent water damage from a leaking hot water tank, clothes washer water pipe connection, or a burst water supply pipe or connection. These sensing devices measure the speed or duration of water and shut down the leaky problem.

Automatic Shut Off Valves

Appliance specific
These are site specific locations. Because Water Heaters are continually under pressure, even small pressurized leaks can quickly flood and devastate a home.. Its possible to place a device in line without plumbing skills that will sense when the flow is too much and shut down the water supply. These valves are less than $50 and quite a few plumbing supply companies carry them - and they work!

System Wide
Water flow leak detectors and automatic shutoff valves can be an integral part of the plumbing system and will detect any excessive water flow. The valve will shut off all water flow through out the house form any source. Save your floors, carpets and other personal belongings from costly soaking and ruinous water damage. These systems are inexpensive and can be found for as little as $125.
